The Chair of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Abuja Branch, Hauwa Evelyn Shekarau, has reiterated the fact that Nigeria is endowed with phenomenal women who are drivers of change

Speaking in Abuja while receiving a copy of Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women 2021, a biographical compendium of exceptional women with inspirational stories, Shekarau said Nigerian women, due to their exceptional performances, have taken the centre stage in global affairs.

She acknowledged the likes of the DG of WTO and former Minister of Finance in Nigeria, Prof. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, as outstanding examples of women making Nigeria proud.

Shekarau who is the former President of FIDA in Nigeria disclosed that she is the first elected female chair of NBA Abuja Branch

The Team Leader of the Nigeria Women Annual and Executive Director of Gender Perspective, Tammie Edet Kammonke, congratulated Barrister Hauwa for her courage in pursuing her career goals.

She acknowledged Shekarau’s strides and particularly, the leadership she has provided in FIDA and other spheres of life

The Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women is an annual qualitative profiling of phenomenal women in Nigeria who have contributed to the development of Nigeria and have inspirational stories
